Crypto Firms Launch Quantum Alliance to Define Quantum-Resistance Standards

Nine blockchain organizations have launched the Quantum Alliance, an open standards body modeled on the IETF to define what "quantum-ready" means and establish common testing methods for quantum-resistance across networks and wallets. The group warns that roughly 6.04 million BTC, about 30% of Bitcoin's supply, remain exposed to potential quantum attacks due to elliptic-curve signatures. The Alliance will operate in four working groups focusing on migration, zero-knowledge systems, wallet security, and cross-chain compatibility, aiming to close the current lack of shared definitions and testing standards in the industry.
