Taiwan Coast Guard Says China Harassing Shipping With East Coast Patrol

Taiwan's Coast Guard reported that China's Coast Guard is conducting patrols off Taiwan's east coast, attempting to exert fictional jurisdiction and harassing ships via radio communications. Taiwan sent its own vessels to monitor the area, which it considers critical wartime supply routes. China claims Taiwan as its own territory and has increased activity since June, which Taipei says is practice for a potential maritime blockade.
