Ukrainian evacuees from Oleshky arrive in Belarus ahead of return to Ukraine

Residents evacuated from the Russian-occupied city of Oleshky arrived in Belarus on Saturday via four planes, the fourth landing in Gomel. A humanitarian ceasefire, brokered by US First Lady Melania Trump, allowed a convoy of 25 buses to transport approximately 750 people out of the city. Ukrainian officials stated the group will soon return to Ukrainian territory, while several hundred residents chose to remain in the war-torn city despite shortages of utilities.
