Microsoft Research Asia – Singapore marks one year of advancing frontier AI with local partners

Established on July 24, 2025, Microsoft Research Asia – Singapore (MSRA – Singapore) aims to bridge Microsoft’s frontier AI research with Singapore’s world-class universities, government agencies, and industry ecosystem. The lab focuses on four pillars: next-generation AI models and agentic systems, domain-specific AI for real-world impact, AI-native research practices, and ecosystem and talent development. Through a research-to-impact flywheel, MSRA – Singapore translates fundamental advances into practical solutions, with early work in multimodal healthcare AI and self-evolving diagnostic agents.
