Most Americans reject election betting as prediction markets face trust crisis

A Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 69% of Democrats and 61% of Republicans oppose using prediction markets to bet on election results. The survey of 4,506 U.S. adults also showed opposition to betting on military actions and government policy. This public resistance complicates the industry's defense that prediction markets provide superior information, as voters may value forecasts but object to profiting from election outcomes.
