Stablecoin transfers quadruple to $891 billion as US banks expand adoption, report finds

Stablecoin transfer volume reached $891 billion in Q3 2026, more than quadrupling since early 2023, with over $400 million moving hourly. Seven of the ten largest US banks have tested stablecoins for settlement, and 30% of mid-market companies conducting cross-border business are using or piloting stablecoins. A separate survey found 42% of US adults would be more likely to open an account at a bank offering crypto services.
