Flock CEO claims gunshot detection microphones only detect gunshots despite broader website claims

Flock CEO Garrett Langley stated that the company's Gunshot Detection microphones only detect "just gunshots," contrasting with Flock's website which claims the audio systems can also detect street takeovers, severe crashes, car crashes, fireworks, and sideshows to provide earlier public safety awareness. The feature, announced last year, previously faced pushback after mentioning "screaming," leading the company to amend its website to "sounds of human distress" before later pulling the ability to detect "distress" altogether from some customers.
