Kraken's standard instant trades carry a 1% fee with embedded spreads, whereas the stablecoin/FX market order book starts at 0.2% for maker and taker orders. The Bank for International Settlements reports median stablecoin transfer costs of $40-$60 for $10,000 cross-border payments. Additional funding, withdrawal, and bank payout charges further widen the cost difference between stablecoin routes and traditional money-transfer services.
