Anthropic Pays for News Content for the First Time, Signs AP Licensing Deal

Anthropic has signed its first licensing deal with a news publisher, the Associated Press, allowing Claude to display live AP election results with source attribution on election night. Financial terms and agreement length were not disclosed. The company previously rejected such partnerships on fair-use grounds, while OpenAI already has more than a dozen similar deals.
