Google DeepMind uses Antigravity platform to accelerate discovery of novel antimicrobial peptides

Google DeepMind's agentic development platform, Google Antigravity, integrates ProtNLM, a deep learning model that predicts biological function from amino acid sequences, to help researchers scan millions of uncharacterized proteins in the UniProt database. Researchers used this platform to uncover a novel antimicrobial peptide candidate with predicted activity against pathogens causing respiratory tract infections, which is now undergoing wet-lab validation.
