Ripple wins final OCC approval to establish Ripple National Trust Bank

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency has granted final approval for Ripple to open Ripple National Trust Bank, a federally supervised national trust bank. The bank will manage the segregated reserves backing Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin, act as collateral trustee for holders, and provide fiduciary digital asset custody. The approval completes a process that began with conditional approval in December 2025. RLUSD, with a market capitalization of about $2.6 billion, will now operate under both state supervision from the New York Department of Financial Services and federal oversight from the OCC.
