Coinbase denies breach after Amplitude data leak, says customer funds remain secure

Coinbase said on X that an incident involving its third‑party analytics provider Amplitude exposed contact details for a small subset of customers but found no evidence of unauthorized access to its own systems. The exchange confirmed that customer funds were not compromised and that it was notifying affected users and regulators. The disclosure came amid a string of cyber incidents affecting South Korean exchanges and brokerages, prompting Binance founder Changpeng Zhao to warn that leaked personal data can be used for phishing, SIM‑swapping and other attacks.
