Crypto Market Cap Rises 39.6% in Q3 2026 Despite 14.2% Drop in Spot Turnover

CoinGecko's Q3 2026 report shows total crypto market capitalization increased by 39.6%, reaching about $2.96 trillion from nearly $2.1 trillion in Q2. However, quarterly turnover on the top-10 spot exchanges fell by 14.2% to $1.65 trillion. Concurrently, dollar open interest on top-10 perpetual exchanges rose 40.6% over Q3, closing September above $100 billion. Binance's share of the tracked spot market grew to 42.7% from 38.7%, while KuCoin and Deribit saw falling perpetual open interest.
