ISO-NE Wind Generation Up 68% in First Nine Months of 2026 Due to Capacity Growth

Monthly wind generation in ISO New England (ISO-NE) averaged 68% higher in the first nine months of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. September 2026 saw the highest monthly generation at 668.9 GWh, more than double September 2025 levels. Regional wind capacity increased 47% in 2026 to 2.5 gigawatts, up from a 12% increase in 2025. Total wind generation for the first nine months of 2026 reached 4,619 GWh, which is 1.9% more than last year's annual total of 4,533 GWh.
