Labour MP Perran Moon suspended over Covid loan repayments

Labour MP Perran Moon has been suspended after voluntarily referring himself for investigation into his receipt of a government-backed Covid Bounce Back Loan of up to £50,000. Moon, co-director of training company Autoswot, stated the loan was used for staffing and essential business costs during the pandemic. The suspension follows the suspension of Labour MP Bayo Alaba in August over similar queries, as the government's loan scheme faces scrutiny over estimated fraud and error totalling up to £2.8 billion.
