ChatGPT Chrome extension can now view open browser tabs

OpenAI has upgraded its ChatGPT Google Chrome extension, allowing it to view currently open browser tabs when users tag Chrome in the ChatGPT web or desktop app. Sample queries include comparing vendors across open tabs, drafting emails based on tab content, and filling out forms. The update also adds a sidebar integration with full conversation history and enables ChatGPT Work to control Chrome tabs for tasks like sending messages, filling out forms, or downloading files, similar to Google's Gemini-powered auto browse feature.
