LitPivot system helps researchers refine ideas through literature context

LitPivot, developed with University of Pennsylvania collaborators, is a system that helps researchers navigate literature-initiated pivots by organizing academic papers around facets of a research proposal. In a study of 17 researchers, domain experts rated ideas developed with LitPivot as better grounded in existing literature compared to those using a text editor and AI chat tool. Participants also perceived their revised ideas as more novel and useful, and reported a stronger understanding of the surrounding literature.
