Anthropic launches Claude Duet app to compete in the agent market

Anthropic introduced Claude Duet, an agent-focused application built on the Claude Opus 5.5 model, targeting professionals and small businesses to automate and manage tasks, aiming to rival Meta Muse and OpenAI Dots. Duet supports over 6,000 connectors and plugins in the Claude Marketplace, and can facilitate online purchases via Stripe’s Link or Shopify’s Shop Pay, though sensitive steps require user approval; the agent also includes a classifier to prevent sensitive information leakage, defaulting to rejecting requests for credit card numbers or government identification. Claude Duet is currently in research preview for Pro and Max customers on iOS, Android, and the web, requiring a waitlist sign-up.
