Fed holds interest rates steady amid high inflation and resilient economy

The US Federal Reserve kept its benchmark interest rates unchanged this month, citing persistent high inflation and a resilient economy. While inflation remains above target, the Fed said it needs more economic data before considering further rate changes. Ten of 12 policymakers voted to hold rates steady, while two dissenting members favored an increase to 4%-4.25% from the current 3.75%-4% range. The next policy meeting is scheduled for December 8-9.
