KNDS and Ritek begin Leopard 2A8 tank production in Norway

German tank maker KNDS and Norway's Ritek started producing Leopard 2A8 tanks at a new facility in Levanger on Oct. 15, with plans to build 37 of Norway's 54 new tanks. The plant has an annual capacity of 36 tanks. This production launch is part of the Hansa Arrangement formalized in February, which encompasses maritime operations, combined-arms land warfare, and space-based surveillance and communications.
