Japan Cabinet Approves Extension of JSDF Deployment to Sinai MFO

On November 6, 2026, the Japanese Cabinet decided to extend the deployment period of four Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JSDF) personnel to the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) headquarters in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, by one year, until November 30, 2027. The JSDF members are engaged in liaison coordination for ceasefire monitoring and facility maintenance. The decision was reported to the Diet under the International Peace Cooperation Act.
