inDrive, Pony.ai, and Nvidia to test robotaxis in Kazakhstan starting in 2027

Ride-hailing company inDrive signed an MoU with Chinese autonomous driving firm Pony.ai and Nvidia to begin robotaxi testing in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, in the first half of 2027. Pony.ai will provide its Gen-7 robotaxis, which inDrive will operate via its app, while Nvidia will supply AI technology, including its Hyperion platform and Halos safety system. The tests will initially include a safety operator, aiming for fully driverless rides later. This move reflects growing interest in self-driving technology outside the U.S. and China, aligning with Kazakhstan's 2027 autonomous taxi launch plans and Nvidia's goal to lower robotaxi development costs in emerging markets.
