Coinbase reports vendor breach exposing customer contact data ahead of Q3 earnings

Coinbase disclosed that a security incident at analytics vendor Amplitude exposed contact information for a small subset of customers. The exchange confirmed no unauthorized access to its own systems and that customer funds remain safe. The breach was announced a day before Coinbase reports third-quarter earnings, with analysts expecting revenue near $1.2 billion. Separately, South Korean exchange Bithumb confirmed an unauthorized party accessed its internal mobile groupware system, but stated customer crypto assets are unaffected.
