Pennsylvania Mandates Labels on AI-Generated Advertisements

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed the Artificial Intelligence Deceptive Advertising Act, requiring any ad—including still images, video, audio, or text—significantly modified or generated by artificial intelligence to carry a label matching the ad's format. This law applies statewide regardless of the ad's creation location, though it includes carve-outs for parody, satire, commentary, criticism, and content that is 'evidently fictional,' while the definition of 'significantly modified' remains subjective.
