Deepgram acquires Daily to open-source Pipecat voice AI framework

Deepgram acquired Daily, the maintainer of open-source voice AI framework Pipecat, to bolster its voice AI infrastructure. The deal keeps Pipecat open-source, allowing developers to build voice agents with expressivity by plugging in different models and a context bus. Daily, which has raised over $62 million from investors including Tiger Global, will join Deepgram, whose CEO Scott Stephenson said the acquisition helps open up the ecosystem so developers can use the best models for their use case.
