20 institutions join DTCC token service, only 34 securities qualify at launch

The Depository Trust Company launched its Tokenization Service on October 28, 2026, enabling 24/7 transfers of tokenized securities between registered wallets on the same blockchain. While 20 participants signed access agreements at launch, only 34 securities—select Russell 1000 equities, ETFs, and US Treasuries—are currently eligible for tokenization. Token transfers operate independently of conversion orders, which are limited to business-day hours from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time.
