EIA forecasts varied energy expenditures this winter due to fuel price divergence

EIA expects energy expenditures this winter to vary based on diverging energy price trends among fuels and regional temperature variations. Lower prices for natural gas and propane are expected to decrease expenditures for half of U.S. households using these fuels, while higher prices for electricity and heating oil are forecast to increase expenditures for households using those fuels.
