Trump to highlight administration's efforts against overseas crypto abuses at White House event

A White House official said President Donald Trump plans to focus on his administration's efforts against overseas crypto-fueled criminal operations at a Wednesday cybercrime event. Under his watch, U.S. law enforcement has halted about $833 million in fraudulent crypto transactions, seized 503 fraudulent crypto websites under the Homeland Security Task Force, and informed almost 9,000 U.S. citizens of victimization. The administration also formed a multi-agency Scam Center Strike Force in November to pursue "pig butchering" coordinated by organized-crime operations in places like Burma, Cambodia, Laos, and the Philippines.
