AI brief

Google Research introduced Agile Deliberation, a framework that treats the creation of subjective AI classifiers as an iterative conversation between humans and AI. It targets gray areas such as healthy food, inspiring artwork, and content moderation, where category boundaries shift with cultural context, personal philosophy, or operational policy. The framework has two stages, concept scoping and concept iteration, and replaces rigid labeling with direct feedback on borderline images. Google Research open-sourced the underlying code and algorithms on GitHub. In an evaluation of 18 live sessions, each lasting 1.5 hours with human participants, the approach reduced user fatigue and anxiety compared with manual prompt engineering and produced AI models that were more consistent and outperformed standard baselines.
