Moonshot releases Kimi K3.1 Pro with promise of open weights by November 4, 2026

Kimi K3.1 Pro landed on the Kimi API on October 23, 2026. While not yet open weights, Moonshot promises full model weights will be released by November 4, 2026. A 'Highspeed' version is also available, offering 2-3x faster speed at twice the price (input token cache hits remain the same price). US dollar pricing is $2.00/million tokens for input and $10/million for output, matching GPT-6.1 Sol and half the price of Claude Opus 5.5. Moonshot benchmarks place Kimi level with Opus 5.5 and GPT-6 Astra, and Artificial Analysis scored Kimi at 55, ahead of Claude Fable 5.1, GPT-6 Astra, and Gemini 4 Argon (all at 53), making it the first time a soon-to-be open weight model scored this highly against frontier models.
