Starlink access restored for Ukraine after Trump claims restrictions were lifted

US President Donald Trump said Elon Musk has restored Ukraine's Starlink internet access, following reports from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that connectivity to the military-grade Starshield network had not been fully restored, with speeds still below 400 km/h. The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump called Musk to ask him to lift restrictions, as the capped speed of around 160 km/h hampered Ukraine's offensive drones and defense against Russian attacks. Ukraine relies on Starlink for battle communications and early warning systems, and Zelensky stated he was awaiting information from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
