FCA proposes enhanced checks on personal wallet crypto transfers as good practice

Britain's Financial Conduct Authority issued nonbinding draft guidance proposing enhanced due diligence for crypto transfers involving personal, or unhosted, wallets. The proposal criticizes firms that use unexplained third-party risk scores and rigid tracing rules that fail to account for risk. The consultation closes December 24, 2026.
