Solana developers propose unified protocol specification to reduce validator software inconsistency risk

Solana developers, led by Anza CEO Brennan Watt, have proposed a draft specification to create a single authoritative reference for Solana's transaction processing, block validation, and consensus rules. Published on October 30, the proposal aims to address reliability risks as independent validator clients such as Firedancer join the network. The draft is not yet adopted and does not cover future upgrades or long-term compatibility.
