Global banking supervisors meet in Bali to discuss future of supervision and finance digitalization

Almost 300 central bankers and banking supervisors from over 60 jurisdictions attended the 24th International Conference of Banking Supervisors (ICBS) in Bali, Indonesia, from September 30 to October 1, 2026. Discussions focused on enhancing supervisory effectiveness, modernizing regulation, the digitalization of finance, and linkages between banks and non-bank financial institutions. Erik Thedéen, Chair of the Basel Committee, delivered a keynote speech on strong and modern supervision.
