Kevin O'Leary backs Trump's Republicans ahead of midterms, citing no better market option
Kevin O'Leary, chairman of O'Leary Ventures and a Shark Tank investor, said he is staying the course with President Donald Trump's Republicans ahead of the midterms because no other market offers global capital a better deal. He did not name Trump or the Republican Party directly, but the vote puts control of Congress at stake, with Republicans defending a 53-47 Senate majority. O'Leary said households face financial pressure, but asked what better offer exists, adding that 52 cents of every internationally invested dollar comes to the United States; he provided no source for that figure. The 2025 Economic Report of the President put the US share of global gross capital inflows at about 41% for 2022 and 2023. O'Leary warned on Oct. 30 that midterm results could create gridlock in Washington and affect crypto-friendly regulations such as the Clarity Act. Persistent inflation, a war with Iran, and falling Trump approval are headwinds for the standing party, and economist Peter Schiff wrote on Oct. 22 that a pre-election crash was possible because of stock valuations and inflation.
