BBC Verify finds 254 IDF incidents of alleged killings or injuries lack public investigation outcomes

BBC Verify analyzed over 60,000 news reports and found 254 incidents where the Israeli military was accused of killing or injuring people in Gaza, Lebanon, the occupied West Bank, and Israel, yet have no public outcome. Of the 300 cases the military said it was investigating, only 28 had published outcomes on the IDF website; 158 incidents occurred in Gaza between October 7, 2023, and August 19, 2026. The IDF stated it takes all allegations seriously, but investigation results are not routinely made public.
