Solana introduces 1 SOL fee for bug reports to curb AI-driven spam

Solana's Firedancer team has introduced a 1 SOL (approximately $100) fee for each bug report submission, requiring the tokens to be burned and making the fee nonrefundable regardless of report validity. A recent audit competition received 809 reports from 162 researchers, yielding only 127 unique security findings, with nearly half of valid submissions being duplicates. Jump Crypto, the builder of Firedancer, stated the fee aims to discourage speculative reporting and alleviate the burden on engineers tasked with validating genuine vulnerabilities amid a flood of AI-assisted submissions.
