Chinese and European Experts: Green Circularity Becomes Future Trend of Global Fiber Industry
The 2026 Dornbirn Global Fiber Congress was held on November 5 in Keqiao, Shaoxing, China, with experts from China, Austria, Germany, and Portugal attending. Yan Yan, Vice Chairman of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation, said green and low-carbon development has become a criterion running through the entire lifecycle of textile products. Robert van de Kerkhof of the Austrian Fiber Research Institute called fiber-to-fiber recycling the future path. China's textile fiber processing volume averaged over 60 million tons annually from 2021 to 2024, accounting for over 50% of the global share. This was the first time the congress, founded in 1962, was held in China.
