Anthropic launches Claude “Personal Finance” tool to analyze user spending via connected bank accounts
Anthropic announced a new Claude tool called Personal Finance that lets users connect bank and credit card accounts through Plaid and ask questions about balances, transactions, and spending categories. Access is read-only, so Claude cannot move, manage, or invest money. The tool can flag duplicate charges, unexpected fees, and rising bills, and explain concepts such as APR. Conversations in the Personal Finance hub are not used to train models. It is rolling out in beta this week to Pro, Max, and Ultra plan users in the U.S., as Claude catches up to similar ChatGPT personal finance features launched in May.
