XRP Ledger developers propose zero-XRP wallets for stablecoin payments

XRP Ledger developers are testing a new transaction type, SponsoredAccountCreate, that would allow existing accounts to create new wallets with zero XRP balance by covering reserve requirements. The proposal aims to reduce costs for payment applications and automated software, particularly for stablecoin use cases, by enabling sponsors to pay network costs without controlling users' private keys. The code remains under review and depends on a broader sponsorship amendment that has secured only 11 of the 29 validator votes required for approval.
