Ethereum developers postponed the Glamsterdam hard fork on the Hoodi testnet from October 26 to allow investigation into gas-related security risks, as warned by ChainSecurity on October 13. ChainSecurity noted that EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 could weaken safeguards against insufficient gas griefing because gas might be returned to a contract after a failed operation, potentially interfering with existing security checks that rely on remaining gas.
