Instagram Head Adam Mosseri Warns AI‑Related Negativity Will Intensify

On the Colin and Samir podcast, Instagram chief Adam Mosseri said that anxiety, frustration and anger around artificial intelligence are rising, especially in creative fields, and that the trend is likely to worsen over the next few years. Mosseri noted that Instagram does not currently differentiate AI‑generated content from human‑created posts, and that the platform is exploring ways to handle AI‑generated accounts, including requiring AI accounts to label themselves. He also highlighted creators’ concerns about ownership of their content, the risk of AI training on their work, safety issues, and job displacement, framing these worries as a fear of being left behind. Instagram has already begun cracking down on AI‑generated profiles and is working on policies to address deepfakes and other misleading AI content.
