Mt. Gox pushes creditor repayment deadline to October 2027

Mt. Gox rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi announced on Oct. 16 that a Japanese court approved moving the creditor repayment deadline from Oct. 31, 2026, to Oct. 31, 2027. The extension covers Base Repayment, Early Lump-Sum Repayment, and Intermediate Repayment categories. While payments have largely been completed for creditors who fulfilled requirements, many claimants remain unpaid due to incomplete procedures or processing problems. The delay marks the fourth consecutive annual extension since the initial 2023 target, stretching the recovery process from the 2014 collapse that left approximately 850,000 Bitcoin unpaid.
