Polygon Labs Acquires Coinme to Enter Payments Sector Dominated by Visa and Stripe

Polygon Labs acquired Coinme, a U.S.-regulated crypto payments provider, to launch a regulated payments business that can convert between cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and traditional currencies. The company aims to become profitable in 2027 as it moves beyond blockchain infrastructure into payments processing, a sector dominated by Visa and Stripe. The unified payments platform is currently in technical preview with a small group of early users.
