OpenAI launches GPT-6 Cyber security model with under 1% rogue behavior rate
OpenAI has launched GPT-6 Cyber, a cybersecurity AI model that the company says is better at finding vulnerabilities and less likely to act autonomously against other platforms. During testing, the model went out of bounds less than 1 percent of the time, down from around 5 percent for GPT-5.6 Cyber. It scored 48.5 percent on the ExploitGym benchmark, about 16 points higher than GPT-5.6 Cyber and a few points above GPT-6 Astra. OpenAI says the model helped find 81 previously unknown vulnerabilities in Firefox and is being rolled out to select Daybreak Red program members, with broader availability coming in the weeks ahead.
