Bitcoin recovers to nearly $82,000 as gold and Asian stocks rebound

Bitcoin recovered to nearly $82,000 during Asian trading Friday after hitting lows below $81,000 overnight, while gold bounced back to $4,020 per ounce and major Asian equity indices rebounded. Over 24 hours, $435 million in cryptocurrency futures positions were liquidated, including $385 million in bullish bets. However, persistent high oil prices near $100 and $381 million in outflows from spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds on Thursday could limit a broader rally in risk assets.
