Anthropic launches always-on agent Claude Duet to compete with Grok Bot, Muse, and Dots

Anthropic released a research preview of Claude Duet, a proactive agent built on Claude Opus 5.5, designed to work on tasks while the user is away. Available on iOS, Android, and the web, Duet connects to services like Gmail, Slack, Stripe, Docusign, and Shopify via over 6,000 connectors to handle tasks such as tracking unpaid invoices and preparing payroll. The agent provides a daily summary and only reaches out when attention is needed, requiring user approval before any sensitive action, such as sending a message or making a payment; trading securities and moving money between accounts are prohibited.
