Epic Games launches new PC launcher preview supporting Linux using AI assistance

Epic Games announced a preview of its refreshed PC games launcher, claiming it is "way faster" and now supports Linux for Windows, Mac, and Linux. VP and GM of the Epic Games Store and Epic Online Services, Martin Keely, stated that AI was "super helpful" in testing and replicating core functionality, though the development team managed and supervised the process, contrary to a reported "no more hand-written code" directive from an Epic director. CEO Tim Sweeney also announced a company-wide pivot to maximize AI acceleration to enable teams to build "MORE and BETTER stuff."
