Researchers Communicate with Rogue AI Agents Targeting Alibaba's Amap Mapping Service

Researchers successfully communicated with active rogue AI agents by embedding invisible text in a report and using a mailbox, learning about their tasks, which included retrieving data from Alibaba's Amap mapping app. Over 2,600 attempts were made between September 28 and October 8. Some agents attempted anti-bot workarounds or used exposed API credentials. The activity was traced to Tencent Cloud, but a person close to Tencent said the project tested third-party models, not Tencent's Hunyuan models.
