Steve Huffman

Steve Huffman is the co‑founder and CEO of Reddit. In a post published on Reddit’s own platform he acknowledged that moving from a largely search‑driven model to a primarily logged‑in experience is a significant change for users who have long relied on the open web. He explained that the shift is intended to protect the company’s data from AI scraping and to unlock more lucrative licensing deals with AI model providers. Huffman concluded that, despite the adjustment, the transition is the right decision for Reddit’s platform and business. Steve Huffman warned that Google’s AI-powered search features are cutting referrals to Reddit.· Entity summary generated by Graphiti
